Jeff knocked Tom over, thus winning that round - once you're down in one of these suits it's pretty dang hard to get back up.Today was an absolutely beautiful day in Portland!! So, of course we wanted to take advantage of the awesome weather and head outdoors. Well everyone else in Portland had the exact same idea. We decided to hike Angels' Rest. That was the most crowded hike I have ever been on. It was driving Happy crazy because there were all of these people that she wanted to go and jump on, and a ton of other dogs that she just had to go and smell. Anyway, the hike is basically all uphill for 2 1/2 miles to the top, which has an awesome view of the gorge. It's also just a tad bit windy up there. This was the perfect day for a hike.
Porter just chillin in his little backpack carrier - seriously, as soon as this boy can walk he will have to carry his own weight around here - oh, you know I'm kidding.
All I've got to say is I carried him in my belly for 9 months straight so it's only fair that you carry him on your back for a few hours here and there.
With the crap load of people on this hike there wasn't a shortage of people to take our picture for us - we never even had to ask. Every time we pulled out the camera people were offering to take our picture.Jeff's rendition of today's journey
As we were nearing the bottom of the trail on the way to the car Porter was talking up a storm. You see, because we went on the hike Porter missed his morning nap and at this moment it was almost time for his afternoon nap, so he was getting a little delirious from the lack of sleep. That's when he can be the cutest - mostly it's when he's the most fussy, but today was a good day. He was a trooper even though he was a little sleep deprived. He's such a good little boy!
