8 months!

Yup, the girls are 8 months old today! Here are their stats:

Simone:
Weight - 15.2 lbs (<5%)
Height - 26 in (10-25%)
Head - 16.6 in (10%)

Scarlet:
Weight - 16 lbs (10-25%)
Height - 27 in (25-50%)
Head - 16.8 in (10-25%)

Since the girls lost a lot of weight in the hospital and we had to monitor their weight gain everyday for the first 6 weeks we just like to check on their stats every month. We measure and weigh them ourselves then check their numbers online. The internet is so handy. So Scarlet has passed Simone up in weight again. Scarlet is taller so she seems smaller. We do love Simone's chubby little legs! The girls are still nursing and they eat tons of different foods.

Sweet Simone. I mentioned before that the girls keep trading off who is the fussy one, well right now it's Simone. She is teething though, but no teeth yet. She's also kind of a mama's girl right now and wants to always be held. She has been able to roll all over the place for some time now, but she is beginning to scootch herself a little with her elbows while pushing with her toes. When she smiles she gets a big grin and her eyes get all squinty. She is almost ready to fully sit up on her own, just not really quite yet. She has this look when she looks at you (mostly new people) that seems like she is analyzing you and trying to figure you out.

Cute Scarlet. She just got her first tooth on Saturday 7/17. Looking at her it's the bottom right. And I can see the one next to it getting ready to pop through. She hasn't been rolling quite as much as Simone, but she scootches a little more. She is such a happy little girl and when she smiles she opens her mouth wide and her whole face lights up. Her normal stance is with her arms always out to the side bent at the elbows - does that make sense? I need to get a good pic of that. She's started this high pitch screeching thing when she's excited, but it also comes out when she's crying too. Loud.

These girls are just such sweet little girls. I love them so much! My brother and sister in law just had boy/girl twins yesterday. I am so excited for them! But I am also glad that I'm not in their position right now. It was definitely a challenge in the beginning. But it is super fun and exciting now (it will get better Vicky!).
