Happy The Hunter

When we first moved into this house Happy was constantly smelling and staring at our heating vents. We found out that cats were getting under our house and Happy could hear them in the vents. So we found where they were getting under the house and closed off the holes. More recently Happy started freaking out about under the dishwasher - staring at the opening under it and waiting. The other night Jeff and I were sitting in the living room watching a movie when Happy all of a sudden jumped up and ran into the kitchen, then she came running into the hall, and we noticed that she was chasing a mouse. She caught it, then it got away, then she caught it again and killed it. Pretty gross. We made her drop it and pulled her away. It was kinda small so we figure it was a young mouse and that there is probably more. A few months back we had a mouse in the laundry room (which is right next to the dishwasher in the kitchen) and we set up mouse traps but it got smart. So we got something to fill in any holes or cracks in the laundry room. Then we never saw it again. So we think that that mouse had babies under the house while we were out of town and was still coming into the house through the laundry room, which also has our water heater and our oil heater thingy, so there are lots of opportunities to get into the house. After Happy got the mouse we looked behind the dryer and there's a ton of mouse droppings back there...yummy, eh. Then the other night while I was doing the dishes I saw another mouse coming out of the laundry room, but when it saw me it ran back in. Of course at that moment Jeff and Happy were out in the garage. So we set up some different kinds of mouse traps today, hoping that with those and with our awesome hunter Happy we can defeat these stupid mice.
