This is our lovely jack-0-lantern. We bought the pumpkin on the 18th, carved it on the 21st, then on the 25th we noticed that it wasn't looking too good so we put it in the backyard - neither of us wanted to touch the thing but Jeff was a trooper and was the one who moved it. It had been sitting on our kitchen table because there was no way we were going to put it on the front porch since it would have been smashed in seconds. Where it was sitting on the table had a little puddle of ooze. Gross, eh? This is it today. You can see the mold inside it. This poor guy didn't even make it to Halloween. So sad.

yucky! So you know for next year, someone told me that if you rub vaseline all over the pumpkin it keeps the moisture in and stops/slows the rotting process...never tried it myself, but you never know!
GROSS!! Poor pumkin, didn't get to see Halloween.

That happened to our pumpkin last year! It's the bubonic plague, I am sure of it! :)
